My chair

I ended up taking back the jute rug. Seriously painful to walk on. I decided I would look for something less “knotty”. Maybe a seagrass weave. Anyway this is my chair. I seriously love it although I took a great deal of grief for buying something so “dainty”. Screw it- I’m keeping it for myself. I will get a big gorilla chair for him 🙂

Navy tweed

So I took a real chance and bought a couch online at Wayfair . The company has a wide selection of sofas and terrific customer service so I ordered a bunch of swatches before selecting Rowley Navy Tweed upholstery for the Marsden sofa.

I found the throw pillows at Pier one.  Overall I like the couch although the material is a bit scratchy.

Blank canvas

So here is the main living area – I’m going to try and work with the wall color and floor “as is” . The pic is dark. I will try and take a better shot tomorrow after my couch arrives .  Also I will be changing out all the window treatments with 2″ plantation shutters – but that’s a project for later when I have more time

Hack#1

So I’m in L.O.V.E. with this beautiful Tommy Bahama chair – so West Indies cool. Sadly at $1750 it’s out of my budget!

So here’s my first hack – allow me to introduce you to Pier One’s Temani Chair

A bit “warmer” than the TB chair but I think it will work with the paint color. Of course at $250 it’s a great way to get a little Caribbean vibe without breaking the bank! I put in my order today!!!

Southern Comfort

Well I’m back to blogging again, this time to share the adventure of getting my new Florida digs “up to snuff” before the winter winds begin to blow.

I will be chief cook and bottle washer on this project… no big budgets for interior design help or expensive pieces. Just me trying to hack my way to a beautifully feathered Florida nest.
